A 1979 original Australian daybill movie poster for the theatrical release of the cult gangland classic The Wanderers, an American coming of age teenage movie co-written and directed by Philip Kaufman and starring Ken Wahl, John Friedrich, Karen Allen and Toni Kalem. This film doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves.

It's set in the 60's around an Italian gang the Wanderers. Its full of high school angst and gang violence, but the film has actually got some depth to it and touches on all kind of themes: abusive parents; neglected kids; racism; teen pregnancy Its also laced with melancholy, and sensitivity that reflects the cultural and political change going on in the US.
