A rare 1979 original Italian theatrical release movie poster for Quadrophenia, a classic mods and rockers coming of age film with all the defiant, drug-fuelled Mod subculture of early 1960s. The film was originally conceived by Pete Townshend during the mod revival of the early ’70s, the album and film were inspired by the true-life tragedy of a young mod committing suicide off the tip of Beachy Head. Quadrophenia is the sixth studio album by the English rock band the Who, released as a double album on 26 October 1973.
Phil Daniels, puts in a superb raw angst-ridden performance as Jimmy, a young Mod who loves to party, take amphetamines, ride his scooter around and brawl with the Rockers. Musician Sting plays Ace Face, the cool as hell flamboyant scooter-riding Mod of all Mods.
This poster was designed by Italian legend Renato Cassaro who created over 1500 moive posters including First Blood, Conan the Barbarian, Escape From New York to name a few.
